S1: Prisons and Places of Detention

CATEGORY T1: PRISONS AND PLACES OF DETENTION

The Statute Law Revision Programme considers the instruments in this category to be suitable for revocation.

This category consists of warrants appointing prisons and discontinuing locations from use as prisons. The instruments were made pursuant to section 2 of the Convict Prisons (Ireland) Act 1854 (17 & 18 Vict.) c. 76 and section 90 of the Prisons (Ireland) Act 1826 (7 Geo. 4) c. 74. These sections remain in force.

The Statute Law Revision Programme consulted with the Department of Justice and the Irish Prison Service on the instruments in this category. The Department and the Irish Prison Service agreed that the instruments were suitable for revocation.

Please note that spellings are recorded as they appear in the original print versions of the Dublin Gazette and have not been standardised or modernised. The wording of the subject matter of instruments is not final and is subject to change.
